According to the post from Andy Rubin, some of the new features coming with Android Gigerbread include:
- better support for game development
- better integrated VoIP support
- native support for video calls
- improved cut-and-paste support
- NFC support
- new keyboard and text selection tool
- gyroscope sensor support
- UI refinements
