Current-gen Xperia Models To Get A Taste of Ice Cream Sandwich

Aaron Tilton

Ice Cream Sandwich Xperia Sony

Sony Ericsson Xperia models including the Xperia arc and Xperia ray will get an update to Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0/ ICS) a Sony Ericson employee has confirmed. The London-based representative told SoMobile that all current generation Xperia owners can expect the update shortly after the official October/November launch window, when the public will get it's first taste of ICS. This will mark the second major OS update to the Xperia line in as many months.

According to phonearena in addition to being the first truly cross-platform Android OS, ICS will include a revamped UI and a “Virtual Camera Operator”, which will use face detection to identify a caller and adjust the camera settings accordingly. A few weeks ago we brought you the first leaked screen shots of ICS

@Niels what do you mean they've learned? What were they doing wrong before?

As a long-time SE user, it's very good to se how they've learned how the market works. Even if SE was open about their (original) plans of the launch X10, people didn't get it somehow.

Hmm, that'd be an interesting twist.
