The iPad was the first Apple tablet, it was introduced in January 2010 by Steve Jobs. The presentation was preceded by many rumors and speculations, partly because many suspected the name would be "iSlate". In terms of design and display size, Apple has remained faithful to the first iPad with the models that followed. The tablet was a sales success, reaching 3 million sales after just 80 days, quickly establishing Apple‘s long lasting dominance in the tablet business. By the end of 2010, the iPad was accounting for 75 percent of Apple‘s annual total business.
