Apple introduced their first smaller tablet with the iPad mini in October 2012. The tablet was a slightly smaller version of the original iPad but with a 7.9-inch display. The new iPad mini, launched October 2013, is the second generation and the first to come with a Retina display. The A7 processor is installed, the same that comes in the iPhone 5s. Nothing has changed on the display size: the new mini retains the 7.9-inch diagonal as its predecessor. As with the iPad Air, which also launched with the iPad mini second generation, the iPad mini features MIMO technology for faster Wi-Fi and expanded support for LTE frequencies.
