The Galaxy Xcover from Samsung is the first outdoor-optimized smartphone running on the Android operating system. The smartphone is waterproof, dust-protected and designed to withstand blows. While its technical data is rather basic and the image quality of the 3.7-inch display and the camera aren’t top-notch, the Xcover nevertheless has a powerful battery suited for long usage. The Xcover was launched in early 2012 with Android 2.3.6 and since then Samsung have come up with another successor, the Xcover 2.
