Finally, A Tablet For Everyone ?

by Christopher Silva on Feb 28, 2010 9:48:43 PM — read 579 times

Tablet hype is hitting its crescendo and you may have recently asked yourself, "do I really need one?" We have seen some exciting eye candy recently with Apple's iPad and HP's Slate, but the price, is it worth it? I decided a couple of weeks ago to wait. Just simply wait and see how all this tablet stuff pans out. Then, just as I am feeling truly satisfied with my decision I hear about iLet.

Tablet hype is hitting its crescendo and you may have recently asked yourself, "do I really need one?" We have seen some exciting eye candy recently with Apple's iPad and HP's Slate, but the price, is it worth it? I decided a couple of weeks ago to wait. Wait and see how all this pans out. Then, just as I am feeling truly satisfied with my decision, I hear about iLet.

Haleron thinks we all need a tablet, and have one set at a price I think we can all afford. Haleron's 7″ Android 1.6 based iLet Mini HAL could be just the tablet that shakes my earlier reasoning. The device is running a 600MHz VIA CPU and will be available by the end of this week for the low price of $199.00. The Haleron iLet Mini HAL will also have 2GB of on-board memory as well as 10GB of “cloud” storage for all of your stuff and will start shipping, 1 March 2010.

This tablet immediately changes the field considering the low price. Interestingly, It’s size is about the same size of a 7″ x 5″ sheet of tablet paper making it just the right size for entering text on the portrait keyboard. It also seems well designed for reading. I have never heard of Heleron but this is a cool little tech-toy!

I really do not know if I would need a tablet. It is not really handy. But for such a low price, I would like to check it out.

I agree, cheap enough to test and not hurt too much if it turns out to be a flop.

I noticed some format issues with my post. I'll have to re-think my format for posting.

Directly under the photo the word, "Has" should not be there. And the next word, tablet should have a capital T ... that should fix it. ;-)

Interesting device...for me it's comparing to Compaq's Airlife 100 (if it will be released not only in Spain:-) ). I'll wait until it's price is clear and decide then. Nice post by the way
