Samsung's success with the Galaxy S family of phones in Korea has been well publicized, but we hadn't heard much about the success in the U.S. until yesterday. Engadget received some fairly blurry pictures late yesterday from a tipster that show what appears to be the Motorola Kobe, a mid-sized, mid-level Android device. We don't have any other reported pictures of Kobe to compare against at this point, but there are plenty of specs being pushed around about the handset, and AT&T as the probably carrier.

The Dell Streak seems to becoming rather popular lately. Engadget scored another exclusive yesterday, as they posted up a hands-on review of the two Dell Thunder handsets they received from an undisclosed source. The two handsets differed in terms of the internal hardware, featuring different Android OS verisons, different supported rado bands, display resolutions, and one of them was lacking the back cover.

I reported several days ago that AT&T was likely to launch Sony Ericsson's flagship Android smartphone, the Xperia X10, in the coming weeks, and since then, Sony Ericsson and AT&T announced that the Xperia X10 will launch on August 15th for $149.99 with a new two-year contract. Interestingly though, the phone is already being advertised on Sony Style for $129.99 with a new contract.

BoyGeniusReport and Engadget have both received tips that AT&T will be launching the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 soon, probably in the next several weeks. We first reported about rumors of a launch with AT&T back in April, and it seems that the release date is getting close. The Xperia X10 is a fairly popular high-end handset outside the US, that sports Android 1.6, a 4" 480 x 854 touch screen, 8.1MP camera, and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

Remember that black and blue HTC slider that went through the FCC not so long ago with the model number PC70110? For a while we thought it was the HTC Aria that was heading for AT&T, but it didn't pan out. Fast-forward to today, when CellPassion got ahold of some pictures of the phone in question, along with another HTC phone and a great story of how it happened.

Engadget got ahold of some clear photos of the Motorola Sage, a great improvement over the last photo of the phone. The phone includes a four row QWERTY keyboard, some variant of MOTOBLUR, 3.1" touchscreen, camera with flash, and a very strange looking square trackpad

Engadget has a source telling them that Verizon will be removing their unlimited data plans, like AT&T did not so long ago, in favor of a "tiered bucket strategy" around the end of the month, possibly on July 29th. The two companies, as Engadget writes, are competitors, and they "tend to follow each others' moves pretty closely."
