The Facebook for Android app that was updated just a few days ago has once again been updated, due to problems with the power consumption of the app. According to Phandroid, the version released a couple of days ago used "a “partial wake lock” keeping your phone active even when it appears to be in sleep mode." Facebook has released an update to the app, which they claim fixes the problem.
At the Techonomy conference yesterday, TechCrunch asked Google CEO Eric Schmidt about the future of Google and gaming and, as previously mentioned here, the rumors of Google investing in Zynga. Schmidt, according to TechCrunch, earlier mentioned that a parternship between Zynga and Google can be expected.
Facebook updated their "Facebook for Android" app for Android yesterday, and it comes with many new changes that greatly improve the experience over the last version. Many of you, like myself, may have tried the previous version of the app and been disappointed, but this version is a definite improvement, and might help the app redeem itself.
Today Collin Brook posted news in the AndroidPIT forums about the availability of a pre-launch version of Dolphin Browser HD2. In other browser news, AndroidCentral is reporting that Mozilla's Fennec browser for Android has received some basic multi-touch features, including pinch-to-zoom.
Motorola finally announced the square Android 2.1 powered QWERTY keyboard smartphone, the FLIPOUT. The phone, marketed towards the younger audience, sports features designed for individuals with social networking in mind, with "Facebook, MySpace and photo-hosting sites" integration included.
On Thursday, Facebook released their first official SDK for Android. The Android SDK, which was demoed at Google I/O, is more advanced than the iPhone SDK and includes their Graph API, which will simplify how developers read and write data headed to Facebook.
