Nintendo Emulators and ROMs

OK, so I've been craving to play some old school Nintendo games on my Android just as I do on my computer at home. My question is:

a) are there any free Nintendo emulators available? Do they work well?

b) where do I get the ROMS from and how do I use them with the Emulator?

That is a link for a Super Mario Emulator. However, if you want to remain legal, you need to refrain from DLing games that you don't own real copies of.
