I checked with HTC and they tell me that the Desire does not support voice activated dialling.
Does anyone know whether there is an APP that can achieve this?

That website was the best result that I found regarding the issue. They listed some possible fixes. http://www.easydevices.co.uk/pp/HTC_Accessories/HTC_Desire/HTC_BH_M300_BLUETOOTH_HEADSET_FOR_HTC_DESIRE.html The website above list a headset that looks to be approved for the HTC Desire, and also mentions voice activated dialing in the specifications.
