Poor Speaker quality

After rooting round the web, I find I am not the only one suffering with poor speaker quality. When using the Desire on speakerphone at 90% the quality is just acceptable, however this is to quiet. Set the volume at 100% and this is too distorted to continue with any meaningful conversation. This is extremely disappointing considering the Desire is a fantastic smart phone.

I have to agree, the speakerphone is distorted at high volume and too quiet if you turn it down slightly.Which is all the more curious as both the music player and the fm radio sound fine when played through the speaker.
