Authorising Payment created on Jul 19, 2010 8:25:08 PM
Yesterday I decided to download SportTracker Pro. I have Sony Ericsson Xperia x10i.
So, I read the reviews, decided to buy and continued. I paid by Credit Card and have managed to get to the point of 'Authorising Purchase' and this just doesn't want to complete. I wondered whether there was a connection problem with my phone and decide, after an hour, to restart the phone. However this still hasn't helped. Next, I decided I'd cancel the transaction and request a refund, and that's just what I did. I pressed the 'Cancel Download' button which took me to the app description page. I clicked 'Refund' and recieved a 'Server error' msg. This is where it gets really interesting... at the top of this screen it says 'Purchased'. I decided to click on 'Install' and was taken to the application access screen where I clicked 'OK'. The next page is the Download page which still displays the progress bar and states 'Authorising Purchase...' I've been going through these same steps since yesterday afternoon I did follow the steps as stated on my e-mail receipt if there were any problems - contact Support@SportsTracker.com which I did. Their lst response was "It seems Google have not adapted their "checkout" experience fully to account for the fact that the downloads are directly from their market. As a publisher of apps, we do not have any control of the process. The only "action" we can do is refund a payment. Nothing more than that. We cannot cancel an order." How can I get my app??? |

Mmm, I've learned from that mistake. Problem is, no-one seems interested in helping resolve the problem.

Also... have you tried going to their website.. paying with paypal.. then go to Android market downloading the "FREE" version (yes free).. then click menu (in the app").. then "About".. then click "I paid with paypal".. enter your email and password you set up while on their site etc to "unlock" the free version to the Full version.

If that doesn't work (I would be surprised if it doesn't). I use My Tracks for bicycling.. it basicly does the same thing and it's free.. you can even upload your tracks to Facebook or Google maps etc.

As for how to get your app, it seems that if they don't even know, then you're out of luck. Make sure you get a full refund for that app. I hate to see people get ripped off. Does SportTracker Pro have some ability that other apps don't which sets it apart?

Just checked my CC statement on-line, no payment taken yet, hopefully the payment has been pending for so long it won't get authorised now. re the app, it does what I want and out of all the reviews there are only 3 1 star, overall 4.5 star rating. Cheers.
