unlock Dell streak version 1.6

does anyone knows how to unlock Dell streak version 1.6 ?
it's O2 network locked.

When you say "unlock" do you mean so you can use it on other network.. or meaning "rooted" so you can install custom Roms etc?

Apparently, there are 3 ways to go about unlocking a handset. An unlock code is needed in each case. Since you already have your phone, you only have 2 options. One is to find a website that can give you an unlock code, and the other way is to contact your carrier (O2) and ask them for an unlock code. How long have you been with O2?

How long have you been with O2? Are you a long-time customer? Under what type of contract did you buy the phone? Pay-as-you-go? 2-3 year contract?

I would recommend calling O2 customer service and explaining your problem, and asking if they can give you an unlock code for your phone. If you have been an O2 customer for awhile, it may work. If they won't give you an unlock code, try searching Google for an unlock code.

actly the thing I did not sign any contract with o2.
I frnd of mine bought the streak for me fom uk.
i'm using it with a rebel sim in india.

That guy is using a Rebel SIM and has his Dell Streak working off of O2.

ya even m using a rebel sim..bt d connection is lost when ever o travel from one network circle to other

It is very challenging to help you when it is hard to understand what you are saying, so spelling a bit better would be a big help. Are you saying that you can connect to a non-O2 network, but that when you change networks, you lose connection? I'm not very familiar with this whole unlocking subject, or how exactly a rebel sim works.

If I were you, I would make a post on the forum in my previous post, as well as in XDA-Developers, as they will have more people experienced on that topic.

hello dear,

i mean to say that when i travel from home to my office which is near about 35km from my place i loose the network on my way.
then if . i put the sim in a 2g phone and allow the network signals to come and then put the sim again in dell streak, the network comes again.
This thing is mentioned on the rebelsim website in user reviews.

Yes, I have heard that as well. It is unfortunate, and there may be a fix for that problem soon.

A Dell Streak can be unlocked with an unlock code. A Dell Streak unlocked will work on any SIM card based phone network, such as AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint PCS.
