RE: FROYO 2.2 UPGRADE AT LAST....!!!! created on Aug 23, 2010 1:01:51 PM Randy Finally we get the 2.2 upgrade.....HD video and mobile Wi Fi hotspot this alone is bluddy great.....so what else is new....are we now able to run our apps via the sd card therefore freeing up phone speed and preformance with this potentially extending battrey life...let me know what else is does this upgrade mean...!!!! What provider are you with, and in what country?

not all of software be able direct install to SD card...arghhh ..in my mind now want to repalce my desire to samsung galxy S

Which software will install to the sd card is the choice of the developers... Having a galaxy S will not change this!

With a rooted phone you can install any app to SD card. I have 163 apps installed on my HTC Eris.. that 100 more then without root.

That is true, but the Galaxy S I'm using has a boatload of memory for apps, I think ~4GB or more, so there is plenty of space, enough where a regular person shouldn't have to worry about it that much.

We all get excited at the idea of an upgrade that will make our Android even better then it already is...
what's sad is how long it takes to get the upgrade on some handsets.

I'm with AT&T in the U.S. ( I know I'm a loser) and I have a Samsung Captivate.. Will I see this Upgrade anytime soon?

There are a couple free apps that are even more customizable then the "Car Home" app that you seem to be missing: Custom Car Home (market link) & Car Dock v2 (market link) let us know how they workout for ya!
