Syncing Error with Desire

Hi!

I have the desire and I am EXTREMELY new at this android phone.

I have tried to sync it with my computer, and when it gets halfway through d/l music it comes up with "Unknown error". Now it seems to being doing this with the ITunes library for some reason. And also comes up with "Delayed write failed" in the task bar at the bottom.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the sync and it still does it.

Even the application installer doesn't work.

I have windows XP on my computer, all updated

I live in Australia.

Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated

If you put your phone's details into your forum account (by editing your account details), then it will be much easier to help you. To find your phone's details, go to settings / about phone / and just input the details that are available to input in the account details (such as Kernel, build, and Firmware version.)

Is your phone branded with your cellular provider's name on the phone?

The handset likely comes with a manual which outlines the correct procedure to properly connect your laptop to your Desire. I don't know how HTC Sense works, but I know that on the G1 I used, it involved more than just plugging the phone in. Try and find instructions, and do your best to follow them. If you can't understand them, or can't find any, then I'll take a look around and try to find some.

This thread here is discussing problems with HTC Sync, and it might be a good place to take a look around in. Let me know how it goes. Also, connecting the phone using a USB 2.0 port is recommended, if you read that thread.
