I its a good phone but the keyboad sucks. is there an app to change to another keyboard.

Perhaps the htc_ime mod from jonas is an option for you. It is nearly full customizable.
Or you try an app like [app]SwiftKey Keyboard Beta[/app]. There are many alternativ keyboards in the market. Frank

I have no problem with the keyboard on my Eris.. I mainly use the Compact QWERTY mode.

the smart keyboard app is my favorite for the eris. it is the most customizable
