I just wanted to order the Galaxy somwhere in an online store, but everywhere it is selled out until end of Sept. 2010.
Can I expect a new Version in some way? New Firmware? Andoid 2.2?
Kind Regards,

Where do you live and which version do you want? There is an international version, 4 US versions, a Brazilian version, and maybe another one I have forgotten. Android 2.2 update should be coming sometime this month, but I don't think it will come pre-installed on phones after the update is released, but will be available as an update over the wireless network, or using samsung Keys.

On the Galaxy S website it says
that all of the galaxy phones use the 2.2 system...there is another phone due out soon that may have the update..www.galaxys.com |

What region are you trying to buy the Galaxy S phone in? What variant do you want? Who is your carrier? These are all questions which decide what kind of answers I can give you.

If you are in the US, you need to use Cellular One to get the original I9000, then Tmobile has the Vibrant, ATT has the Captivate, Verizon has the Fascinate, etc.
They all have different models. If you want Froyo and SOON you should avoid the CDMA phones (anything verizon and/or sprint). I love my Vibrant, much closer to the original I9000 than any of them. It has the best Dev Community besides the original I9000. Since they are so similar, I9000 MODs/ROMs can be used on the vibrant, but not really suggested unless told otherwise. Such as Cyanogen Mod, there is 6.1 beta for I9000 that can be used on the vibrant. So far sXe has the latest MOD which is based on the JK6 (latest Froyo leak) ROM. It works really well. You need to root your phone to get to it, so if you prefer stock. you'll just have to wait. |
