Is there an Android 'Hyperterminal'?
created on Sep 29, 2010 9:15:58 PM (via AndroidPIT app)
Hi all,
Is there anything on the market that can be used as one uses Windows Hyperterminal? I would like to read serial data via the USB connection. Is this possible?

Cheers,
Phil

The best alternative I have seen so far is from this thread. The guy was using GetBlue, but I don't know if his solution is exactly what you are looking for, as I don't have any experience in Hyperterminal usage, and don't really know what it is, other than some means of transferring data.

Thanks. I'll check that out Doug.

Hyperterminal is a simple communication program standard in Windows for many generations. You open up a port and set communication parameters and then you are able to 'talk' to certain equipment or techs.

thanks for the explanation, the wikipedia article was surprisingly confusing for me, but there was a lot of jargon, so no surprise there.
