Is there anything on the market that can be used as one uses Windows Hyperterminal? I would like to read serial data via the USB connection. Is this possible?
Cheers,
Phil

The best alternative I have seen so far is from this thread. The guy was using GetBlue, but I don't know if his solution is exactly what you are looking for, as I don't have any experience in Hyperterminal usage, and don't really know what it is, other than some means of transferring data.

Thanks. I'll check that out Doug.
Hyperterminal is a simple communication program standard in Windows for many generations. You open up a port and set communication parameters and then you are able to 'talk' to certain equipment or techs. Phil |

thanks for the explanation, the wikipedia article was surprisingly confusing for me, but there was a lot of jargon, so no surprise there.
