A few questions about the samsung galaxy s!

I got the samsung galaxy s last week and I have a few questions:

1. Why can the samsung galaxy s not have all the samsung apps? abit stupid if its a samsung phone and it cant have them!!!

2. The android market. Im on the same network as my friend who is also on Orange UK and has the samsung galaxy s, and we both searched for the starfield 3d live wallpaper and his brings up several options whereas mine only brings up 2, y is this? i have even tried connecting to the market via wifi and still the same result.

Any help would be appreciated!

If you and your friend BOTH have the Galaxy S and are both on the same carrier, but are seeing different search results, I can only give two reasons why you and your friend receive different search results.

1. You are typing a slightly different search query than what your friend is. If I am wrong and you are typing the exact same query, but coming up with different results, then I can only imagine one answer.

2. Your Android OS. If your phone is running Android 2.1 and your friend's is running Android 2.2, your friend will get more app displayed. Some apps are developed to only work on Android 2.2 or greater, so a phone only running Android 2.1 will not see the apps displayed in it's Market.

Samsung Galaxy S handsets in the UK and elsewhere are currently in the process of being updated to Android 2.2. Not every phone gets updated at the same time, so it is very likely that your friend's phone was updated in the last few days to Android 2.2, but that your phone has not received the update yet.

I would ask your friend to tell you what version of Android they are running, as that will give us the answer.

In addition, your update to Android 2.2 should be coming soon. It may even have already been available for your phone. Install Samsung Kies and have the software look for an update for your phone. If there is one available, install it and then compare the app search results again. Let me know how everything goes.

we are both running on 2.1! lol i have phoned Orange UK and they are baffled too! have a guy phoning me about it today at some point. Just checked and my update isnt through yet

If your friend is ABSOLUTELY sure that his phone is running Android 2.1, then I am at a lost and don't know what to tell you from there other than that it could be a problem with the Android Market itself. I often hear reports that some apps have disappear from the market for some people, while others can see them. Give it a couple days and see if you can see it again. Otherwise, hope that the Android 2.2 update will fix any problems you might be having.

sorry i m some new here dont know how to create a new post. but it is a different question to the topic.
my phone is galaxy S, it pop up "FSUSBSERVICE64 - Service initiali failed" when i open kies.
i see there is a Deutsch reply but i cant read Deutsch, can anybody please help?

Hey.. I've been using Samsung galaxy pop(mini) for more than a month now.. Really good phone and totally in love with it ;)
The thing is.. I had installed the call blocker application for a purpose and had filled the block list with a number.. Later that evening.. I get a call.. The call is quite mysterious coz I can hear only my ringtone..but nothing else..
So I was awestruck.. So I put my friend's number in the block list and made a call.. That call appeared on my phone and automatically got rejected..
But the invisible call still continues and i'm worried.. I've even uninstalled the application..not working
