Are all apps safe?

I have noticed that many apps ask for permissions that don’t make sense. For instance, I wanted to use “Home Switcher” and it asks for permission to use the internet. I don’t understand why it would need that. Any suggestions.

There is usually an email address for the apps Developer in the Google app Market.. I would ask them if you are overly concerned.

Many free apps have ads the change at various intervals.. and therefore need internet access to update.

That makes sense. I did not know if developers could use free apps to fish (sp?) Or insert viruses. A cellular rep said it could be possible.

There was a coupled of apps that had been pulled from the market for collecting some data that wasn't what that app was claiming to be design for.. but other then that.. nothing ever major.

Now google is not cheking all the applications in advance, but when users flag them as malicious then it may be taken down. this creates damage for an application so, an application can do is in the limited theory to the permissions requested by the application for install. so someone cannot steal data from an app.which is good to hear.


i think all the apps are safe to use..unless you use them safely..

A Google employee actually just announced a few days ago that Google is employing people to check out apps to see whether or not they comply with their rules/terms of service/regulations/guidelines/whatever for the Android Market.
