HTC Tattoo wifi issue created on Jan 14, 2011 1:45:25 PM
Has anyone found a solution that works?
I can connect to my router but cannot transfer data as such am unable to browse or use any web based app etc. I have full signal strength and all other devices connect and work fine: ps3 laptop netbook and other phones. This is driving me nuts please help. Info from HTC: "HTC believe this is because you maybe using an N Type enabled router? HTC Android devices are not compatable with this type of wireless router. You will need to be using B/G enabled routers. You need MAC address filtering disabled or your device added to the exceptions if enabled. Your Routers instructions may help with the setup and settings." Can anyone help me with MAC filtering as I have tried switching to g/b but it makes no difference. |

If you are connected to the router already, then I believe you have already gone past any MAC filtering that may exist. Who set up the router where you live? Can they help you with this?

You can use MAC filtering as long as you set up your router correctly. I personally use MAC filtering with my HTC Eris and all is well. Just be sure you enter your MAC address into your router.
