Kies, problem connecting

Kies, problem connecting

Am trying to update my galaxy s to firmware 2.2 but my phone won't connect to kies now, it has done in the past as got 2.1 update 1, now when I connect my phone with usb cable it just says trying to connect device please wait I've left it for ages but doesn't connect! Does anyone have any ideas and also the 2.2 firmware won't knacker my phone will it? Its just a standard galaxy s 16g. Someone please help?

Have you tried restarting your phone and giving Kies another try? Any official update from Samsung/Vodafone should be tested thoroughly beforehand to make sure it will work fine with your phone.

Yeah I tried rebooting my phone with no luck, any other ideas Douglas or anyone else, also thanks for your help.

Do an uninstall of Kies and then redownload the installer, and reinstall it. Let me know if that works for you. Also, I've posted in your other thread.

Also try unmounting your external SD card if you have one, and make sure that you are running the Touchwiz interface from Samsung, not a home replacement like LauncherPro or ADW
