I made a round trip by road last week from Chicago to Nashville. The GPS in my Archos 5 was ready and working. Very helpful. I love it!

What app did you use to make the trip? I didn't think the Archos 5 had a 2G/3G connection, so I'm curious how you got the map data.

Cool! How did you have mounted inside the car?
I just used vecro, one on the back of the Archos and another on the dashboard, and then firmed them together.

The Archos 5 is already preloaded with the GPS. But to get it working I had to start it up in a wi-fi spot. I walked into a MacDonalds and it worked.
