Does your tablet have a memory card, or a slot for a memory card? I would try putting an alternative browser on it with the memory card. It would probably be easier than using a usb slot.

Hi Jeremiah, Thanks, yes I have a 16Gb SD card but I'm having great difficulty getting anything onto it. I've downloaded a few APP2SD apps and although they show a number of apps capable of being moved, every move fails. Oh, by the way, my original problem (downloading a browser) no longer applies as I managed to do it from my laptop. Thanks for any assistance. G. |

What I meant was to use the memory card for you phone to transfer apps from you computer like you were wanting with a usb drive. You can get a microSD to Full SD adapter and then most memory card readers for computers will read it, or even some memory card readers for desktops come with microSD slots now. Once you download the apps to your computer, copy them to your memory card, then put it back in your phone and install the apps from it.
