Looks like our brothers over seas are just now getting 2.2. So I feel greedy for asking but I was wondering if anyone has heard if the Droid will get 2.3?

I don't believe the Droid 1 will ever see another update from Verizon. The device in my opinion has a tough enough time running 2.2.

My ex-girlfriend had the Droid 1 and I had to root it to get it to run some-what smooth ( deleted blotware, overclocked, etc).

Most of you should be getting close to the end of your contract and will be able to upgrade your handset to something newer.. what do you think you will get next?

I am thinking of doing away with cell phones, much as I did with the land line. I'm near wifi 90% of the time. So why pay $140 a month and $200 for a phone? I'll go to Skype or something similar. I just can't afford it any more.

Oh I see. You must have free unlimited calls, as well. You're right about Skype, but you could just downgrade your plan to one with fewer unlimited minutes instead of scrapping the whole thing entirely.

But one thing's for sure: American cell phone providers are viscious!
