Market Download Problem

I bought the samsung i9000 s this week. Samsung apps work fine and download. Market apps signal "download starting". And will stay this way. Never downloading anything. I called Debitel to ask them if they sold me a lemon of a Cell. They said its a Google problem not phone and not market. Super what now? I read somewhere that this was a problem in August of last year. So why is it a problem for me now? Makes no sense.

I remember hearing about similar problems last summer. There are several possible issues here:

1) Do you have a gmail.com or googlemail.com address? if it's googlemail.com try typing in gmail.com (only after factory resetting the phone, though).

2) Try just simply restoring the factory settings (will completely wipe your phone).

3) Clear the market cache

In the meantime, you can download the AndroidPIT App Center
via your phone's browser and use it to download apps and games.

It is the "@Googlemail.com" that is the problem.

Sign into google mail on your pc go into your settings and change to an "@gmail.com" address instead.

Factory reset phone (I know it sucks.. but just do it)

During setup enter your new "@gmail.com" email address.

Now try market.. it should work.
