Here's a handy comparison chart.

Also looks like Thunderbolt is faster

But benchmarks aren't everything, right?

I had the Droid X for a year and played with the Thunderbolt a bunch of times in stores. They're both solid phones (both spec-wise and in terms of build quality). The DX is much thinner and slightly lighter, but HTC Sense is a nicer UI overlay than BLUR. They're both on Froyo now, but there's no telling when Gingerbread is coming to either (Moto is slow about updates but the DX was out 8 or so months before the Thunderbolt).

I'm inclined to recommend the Thunderbolt because HTC promised no more locked bootloaders and Motorola is making phones hard to unlock and root, but they're both great phones so I think you'd be happy with either.

like alex I also played with the tbolt.

Im amongst one of the lucky one that got the early version of the Droidx before the refurbish one came out.

completely happy with my device.

mdx was able to keep up with my chaotic lifestyle without the hassle of constantly worrieng about the device performance etc.

What its going to matter is which one of the device best suited your everyday lifestyle and what your looking to do with the device.

Having said that, I'm still sticking to mdx.lol
