Yup, the options are "phone ringtone," "quiet ring on pick-up," "pocket mode" and "flip for speaker" - all of which are great, but no option for flip to silent. Perhaps it is the default setting, though? I will call the phone to see!

Ah! It looks like this is the default setting on the desire, and there is no way to switch it off. Well, I think I'm happy about that, though I still think there should be the option for users to disable this feature if they want, though I suppose there are few people who'd want to turn the phone on it's stomach and NOT want it to shut up.

Maybe the option becomes visible if you change to one of the other options?
