I'm willing to upgrade my DEFY from Eclair to Gingerbread; I've read many threads on the net on how to do in many other models but nothing about the DEFY ]DEFY,
Any hint on this?

The folks over at XDA have leaked the official ROM for the Motorola Defy. But first, check out our rooting guide!

You can install cm7, its 2.3.4. There's a FAQ on cm7 go with that

I was thinking to skip out Froyo as it's not my fave so think I'll stick with leaked Gingerbread, will search out in the forum for a step by step guide (even for noobs like me

Heh but if you already have Gingerbread on your DEFY´, why would you go DOWN to Froyo? It's an older version of the Android OS. Ice Cream Sandwich is the next step up.
