Samsung Epic 4G — Epic 4G is the worst Android phone ever

My husband, who is a total Android nut, got our whole family a set of Android devices. According to him, Android phones are way better than the iPhone. I don't know anything about this stuff, but I ended up with Epic 4G and I loathe it with a passion. It works so badly I wish could switch back to my old dinky flip phone. I've been having the following issues:

1) screen flickers like crazy and then the whole phone shuts off.
2) the battery life is terrible and barely lasts me 14 hours (and I don't even use it that much)
3)the phone is really slow. there's a lag between the time when i enter something on the phone and when it appears on the screen.

This is just a few issues, but I swear that this phone has a mind of its own. I've already gone to Sprint and asked for a new one, but the new one is doing weird stuff all over again!!!! What is going on????!

I feel for you, Trisha. The Epic 4G just sucks plain and simple. My gf had one a while back and then traded it in for an evo.

I've had the Epic for 3 months and been using it a lot. Abolsutely no issues or problems. A very good phone to have.

I would go to Sprint and really complain to them about it and not leave until you get a different phone. They should upgrade you automatically. This is ridiculous.

Rooting your phone should solve a lot of these problems.

Oh I don't want to get into any problems...I'm not tech savvy enough to get this done.

Sounds like a app problem some apps can bugger up entire phone, do a factory reset, use for awhile then add apps 1 at a time, this can find bad app. I have epic 4G best Android phone so far and I have had alot

There not giving you a new phone, there giving you remanufactored, so your just getting somebody else's problem, insist on new not remanufactored. Hope helps

Have you tried doing a factory reset yet to see if it helps?
