Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v — Does Gorilla glass still need a cover?

I just picked up a new tab (Got some money from the grandparents... oh yeah!) with Gorilla Glass. This stuffs supposedly hard and hell so does it still need a cover? Or can I just let it abide?
