I'm sorry...I know there's so much hype about this tablet and its unbeatable price, but the UI on this thing is just damn hideous. It's like grosser than the album cover view on my iTunes. Does anyone else absolutely hate the way the software on this tablet looks?

I installed the app Go Launcher EX, which is free to download, and it gives to this device a more android table-like look getting rid of the ugly amazon customized UI but allowing to launch it if wanted. There are some features that can't be changed though for instance the wallpapers that will be set to the kindle preset pictures once the kindle is turned off and then on, but still I'm happy with this app that let me use my own UI.

Did you have to root the Kindle Fire before you put go Launcher on it?
