i cant get rid of the updates box thing without getting rid of the clock. Please help :/

I'd love to see if I can help but it's hard to understand the problem with the description you provided. What do you mean updates box thing? Do you mean the entry in the notifications drawer? How are you trying to get rid of it? Just by updating or is it a pop-up message you click out of? When the clock disappears what do you see? Another clock widget in its place or just nothing? Are you using a custom clock widget or the standard one?
