odys cosmo 2.3.1 problem

my device does not have hardware button for home so in full screen apps that does not have a menu for exiting the app ... i cannot exit to "desktop."
i found out later that pressing and holding volume up+down it close the app ... but its not that nice to keep holding 2 buttons to exit apps.
some of the apps leave my status bar visible but i dont understand why not all apps do that or why the status bar is not always on top on a device without buttons.
its just the way android is or apps that hide the status bar are not for android 2.3.1?

maibe there is an app that creates a always on top home button? or some other way to manage. "exit." not closing it just going to desktop

my own answer ... button savior (without root) solves this!

better ... just hold down the volume up key for exiting apps or volume down for menu (in full screen apps)
