What version of Android is on your Mid tablet? There should be a version of the Kindle app out there for your tablet in the market as they've pretty much introduced a new version of the program for each Android distribution. Did you try downloading it here: Kindle for Android?

I have a Wondermedia Model # 8650 Version 2.2 Kernel Version 2.6.32..9 default. Have tried to download the kindle app several times, but it states that thereis no android phone associated to this account.

Thats because Amazon has essentially stripped almost everything Android from that tablet. You could always root it and enjoy Android and all its glory :)

Hi I have the same problem just cannot download kindle app. How do I root the machine please? Any help would be greatfully received. I have returned system to its original status but when I try to load kindle it says my device isn't compatible with this item. As I had the app on an Archos A70H 2.2 and could access my kindle account - until the machine decided it wouldn't charge any more - I returned it and bought this MID 703 with Android 3.0 I would have thought it would have loaded without problem. I bought machine on strength of reviews that other users had downloaded and were using this app. Thanks

Rooting an Android device can be a bit complex so I'd try looking at XDA forum. They have some of the best information about rooting and normally have people in the forum, who have rooted just about every device out there. That's probably the safest way to get the information as I don't think we've ever rooted a MID tablet. You'll probably be able to find decent instructions if you just goodle XDA and MID tablet.

Many thanks for your reply and advice - having read some magazine articles on rooting this week I realise it isn't an easy job for a beginner. However, I think the tablet may be on its way to being returned as it doesn't switch on without the power lead being plugged in - so it doesn't seem to be the 'portable' gadget I was looking for.

Ah well, c'est la vie!
Thank you once again.

No problem! But you shouldnt be afraid of rooting! Its actually pretty easy to do if you follow instructions and go slowly.
