Nope there is no fix. The resolution is needed to see if the app can run on your screen. Lower resolution devices don't have as many apps they can select from. The only way is to jack the resolution up as far as I know.

well I've found a modded market apk over xda made for a miui rom and it seems it works for it but not for my phone (using customised stock rom)
