Firstly I would like to apologise if this has been mentioned elsewhere. I did have a look but was unable to find the answer I was looking for. I'm looking to purchase an Android phone being the HTC Desire X as I'm getting fed up with Windows Phone (another story).
Ideally I do not want to sign up to GMail, if I can help it. If I were to sign-up to AndroidPIT can I install their Market app a different way or do I have to use Google Play? I understand I can hide the Google Play icon from the phone (not sure if it can be uninstalled).
Any help is greatly appreciated. And yes, I am a noob and Android is a whole new world to me.
