Hi, I think the Amazon player in the kindle fire will only play certain video formats - not sure which. I am assuming you ripped your blu ray and side loaded the file into the kindle fire. I think they limit the compatible formats to "encourage" you to purchase your media from the Amazon video and music store. Sorry I cannot confirm this now because I rooted and flashed a custom rom on my KF a long time ago.

First of all, check the transferred file location, you need put them to Gallery app directory and your tablet can find them and play well; and remember Android systems compatible Memory cards have a limit of 4GB per file because of the FAT32 file system, including Kindle Fire HD. 720p and 1080p movies today can be up to 10GB, and that's definitely will not transfer to the MircroSd card.

So you need re-encode and downsize the file; or if don’t wanna re-encode and lose video quality, use Pavtube Video Converter Ultimate to rip your disks again, but this time, use its Split feature. Don’t how-to? Don’t worry, I find a guide page can help.

How do you transfer the blu-ray and dvd to Kindle Fire HD?If you use some software, you should check if the software can rip the disc since Blu-ray and DVD are DRM.

I’d like to transfer my Blu Ray Dvds to my Kindle Fire HD. However, while I have had no problems with the original disks, the files play fine on my device, but everything I converted has the same error message: “video cannot be played”. What is the problem?

Assume you've ripped your Blu-ray DVDs. What format have you converted to your Fire HD tablet? According my experience, H.264 MP4 format is the best format for Kindle Fire HD. You'd better get a proper one-stop Blu-ray DVD ripping and converting software. After convert the movies to h.264 mp4, just transfer the generated videos to your Kindle Fire HD. Another Note: Videos transferred to Fire HD tablet via USB will only be available in the Gallery app. Only videos from the Amazon Video store are shown in the Video library. So, in this case, you should locate your videos in Gallery app.
