HTC CHA CHA screen problems

i have a htc cha cha and it was working fine then all of a sudden when i try and unlock it the ring doesn't go all the way up and it doesn't unlock and the home button and the other back and search don't work either.
its like the top half works but the bottom doesn't.
does anyone have any ideas why this is ?
