HTC Vivid — Trouble with my Vivid

Earlier this summer I got a HTC Vivid. For the most part, I have been very pleased with it. However, it started jumping screens (I'm not a techy so I don't know what the correct term is). Even when I laid it down, it would go to another screen or app. It was under warranty so I got another one just a few days ago. The new one is doing it also, but not nearly as bad - YET. So, what am I doing wrong? Do I just not appreciate its sensitivity? Is it my battery? I would appreciate some ideas.

I'd try a couple of different things. First I'd lock the screen orientation. Some launchers show rough edges when the orientation changes. If you're using an aftermarket launcher, try a different one. If you're using the stock interface, try a launcher. Also make sure that your gesture settings aren't inadvertently causing app openings or changed screens when you're setting the phone down. Hope there's something in all that that'll help you.
