update problem.

I keep getting a notification saying there is an update for an app I have . When I download the update I am told that an app of that name is installed and so it won't install . Well of course there is! It's an update! Any ideas of what is going on?.

There could be a few reasons, but the easiest way to sort it is clear the play store data(settings, manage apps, play store, clear data). Whether you downloaded it from the market or restored it/installed it from elsewhere sync issues can occur where the play store isn't aware of your current version of the app.

System updates are dependant on your carrier. You have a wildfire and I know 2.3 and 4.0 are available on xda, but I think that the last official os was 2.2
