HI I have a KF HD7" and I think I loaded my videos over just by plugging the Kindle Fire HD in it into my computer and moving the files using a file manager. . . . I will try again tonight and let you know.

HI! OK I tested my Kindle Fire HD 7" again and this is what I found.

1. When you upload your videos to the Kindle Fire HD, you can't see them in the any of the main menus that you use for Amazon movies and TV or anywhere up there. --no matter what.

2. You need to get to them using a different application.

3. So, first please to go to the "APPS" menu, and then scroll down until you find the PERSONAL VIDEOS App. (See link below if you want to see a ppicture of the icon)

4. Next please click on that APP/start it! and you should see all of the videos that you had uploaded before listed there! (They will be small box video icons). (By the way, I uploaded all my videos into the VIDEO directory (the same sub-directory that has another sub-directory in it for amazoninstantvideos (but I did not place anything into that sub-directory!) They are all visible --so if your videos don't show up in the Personal Video app, then move them to the Video folder and try it again!

5. Next click on any video you want to see and then you will be asked to select a video player. You may have one or more choices, but the default most likely will be VIDEO PLAYER.

6. Click on Video player and then your video will play in both portrait and landscape mode.

7. I tried this for MP4, M4V and 3gp type movies and all of them worked well.

8. The default video player is ok, but I recommend using a different movie app. I am using Dolphin Video (which works with Dolphin browser), and also tried Super Video (which did not work so hot for me!)

9. An alternative way to start your videos is to open a file manager like Root Explorer, or ES Flile Manager and switch to the directory into which you placed your videos, and then click on the file name --it should show you a dialogue box to ask if you want to open the file with a choice of apps. Next chose the VIDEO PLAYER APP to do this.

(By the way, "Video Player" app itself in not be seen in your apps menu, for some strange reason. Just start the process with the PERSONAL VIDEOS Icon!)

Hope this helps

P.S. I have tried to load a picture of the Personal Videos Icon in APPs here to help you find it, but there seems no way to do that; moreover, when I attempted to load a link to a copy of it (using my dropbox, this forum tells me I am a new user and can't do that ;-(

So here is the link(-) but you need to remove the space between the https: and the rest of the line --then you should be able to download the pix of the icon.

Kindle Fire HD supported video formats are:
Audio: AAC, MP3, MIDI, OGG, WAV,
Video: MP4, VP8
And .mp4 is listed, so no need to convert, just transfer.

Have a look at Pavtube video converter
