I love the program but having the same issue as Jeff above. I even went so far to write the creator of the program and while praising him also asking why there is no simple 'exit' or 'off' switch. The answer he gave:
"Well I really don't think an exit button is necessary. Essentially
Android was created with the idea that you don't need an exit button.
Once the app goes to the background it keeps some memory held so that
when you return to the app things load fast. Something very important
to note is that if your phone is in need of memory right away it will
discard any app that was being kept alive. So because you still see it
in the running services, it is actually not doing any work. In the
case of xiialive, if you are streaming only that is working. But if
you stop the streaming the app doesn't do any work, so no performance
or battery life issues will affect the phone. I hope you understand my
point? :P let me know!"
While he was very friendly and prompt in responding, I don't really think he got the point, and there are a lot of others who have made the same complaint....so unless he is inundated with the same request I don't believe we're going to see an exit option anytime too soon.
