Description
AirBubble is a lightweight AirPlay audio receiver. It will appear in AirPlay applications (such as itunes) as a device you can play music to. It works in the background, streaming music to your Android device. This version is fully featured but will exit 30 minutes after each app start (you can start the app as many times as you want). This can be unlocked with the AirBubble License app.
Features:
- stream audio from AirPlay clients (itunes, iOS, airfoil, ...)
- run in the background as a service
- configurable network name
- can be started on boot
- supports audio focus (mute or lower volume on external sounds)
- supports tethered USB or WiFi connection (may require rooted device in some case)
Limitations:
- Audio only, no video
- does not play in sync with other Airplay receivers
- does not work with RaopX on MacOS X and the raop module for pulseaudio on Linux
- does not work yet on GoogleTV
Examples of use:
- stream your itunes music to your Android device with Hyperfine Remote for iTunes
- wireless speaker or headset
- recycle older or broken Android devices as a dedicated networked speaker

Motorola ATRIX Downloaded. Didn't work. Just sat there and didn't show up in my Shared iTunes sidebar. Uninstall.

Detection problems. iTunes doesn't detect my phone half the time. Love the app though. Lg-opt2x

Choppy but with great potential It mostly works as advertised except choppy/skippy interruption every 20/30secs. I tested to see if this was the issue with my router but same thing even after testing it with 3 routers and all in good range. If the developer can add buffer/quality adjustment setting to overcome this choppy issue, I will happily pay for the licensed version.

Close, but needs work I really like this App but like others have mentioned it skips a lot. I'd say at least 3 or 4 times a song I get about a second where the audio just cuts out and then it comes back in. The sound quality has always seemed great otherwise. If these glitches could be fixed I would buy a license in a heart beat.

Only option but a great option! Works well. ITunes does not recognize as an airplay device like airport express, share port on windows, boxee box. Also does not sync timing as well. So if you just want to push music to one device works well.

Good idea if it worked Used from an iMac to a HTC phone. The continuity of the music streams is far too often interrupted, making the audio very glitchy. Until streams continuity and synchronisation is achieved reliably on all connections (video + audio and to multiple receivers) this application is just a toy. Annoyingly useless.

High quality A little tricky to figure out at first - I wanted to stream from an ios device - but once up and running it's fantastic. Delays are manageable and controls straight foward. Recommended.

Just Okay Sound quality is superb, but sound is delayed by approximately 4 seconds. Useless when watching a movie, good only for playing music (which I could get for free using gmote). Useless for me, but if they can make the sound sync somehow, this is gonna be a 6 star app. I know it is probably impossible since there will be a delay when using wireless connections.
