Loosen Wire is a simple kind of game, but it will get you hooked within minutes, mark my words! There’s a bunch of dots that are connected via wires, and these dots must be moved around so that none of the wires are crossed—easy. Well, what sounds easy enough turns out to be quite tricky the higher up you get in the levels.
The first thing you see when you access the app is the main menu. I hit ‘NewGame’ and pick a level of difficulty—there are five to choose from, ranging from Easy to Master. I decide to go for Normal for the time being – being a newbie and all – and continue on to playing my first round in Level 1.
As mentioned in the introduction, the game is all about moving around dots so as not have any wires crossed (hehehe, get it?); the amount of dots increases with every level, and they are always scattered about differently, meaning you have to keep reassessing them so as to unmuddle them anew in each level. That said, the longer you play, the more of a technique you will develop, allowing you to deal with even the most confusing messes.
Another factor players have to contend with is time: the objective of the game is unmuddle the dot/wire mess in the smallest amount of time. Go on, try to beat your own best time, you know you want to!
Free wires are green, crossed ones are red.
That’s about all there is to say as far as the gameplay goes. As far as options are concerned: go to settings to change the game’s background—there are six to choose from, most of them are of the ‘wooden look’ variety. You can also switch the music, vibration function and Pitch Zoom on/off. Pitch Zoom allows you to zoom using two fingers; alternatively you can use the button. You can also choose to have the timer displayed within the game itself, and the same goes for the ad banner (i.e. you can choose whether you want to see it when playing a round). I much prefer not having the ad banner displayed whilst playing the game itself.
Bottom line:
Loosen Wire is a crazy mess of fun, and yet so simple! I have to admit that writing this review took me a lot longer than it usually does, because I kept taking breaks to play a few more rounds. Call the wire police, I’m hooked! I wholeheartedly recommend this game to people who enjoy games that involve a little bit of practical-problem solving skills and logical thinking. It makes for a great time killer game.

WAS a favorite This was really one of my favorite apps. Then one day I started getting spam advertisements in my notification area. After downloading a spam detector, I was horrified to see it was Loosen Wire all along. Why do that to your fans?
