What makes a good personal finance app? What should or shouldn’t be included? EasyMoney brings you more than the usual money management app with additional features such as payment reminders and some practical financial assessments.
All the most important personal finance features are also included in EasyMoney: bank account management as well as sorting of transactions and expenses. You can add as many accounts as you like and assign any of your transactions to a particular category. You can also keep eye on your account by setting up a budget limit. All the features are superbly interconnected. When you create a budget, you can assign it to a particular category and account. Anytime a budget is exceeded you’ll receive a visual notification.
Your earnings and expenses can be easily managed with EasyMoney. Just select the category, account, amount and transaction description. With EasyMoney you can also add a note or photo without any problem. You can also set up reminders for your bill payments with just a couple of clicks. In theory, a bill reminder is supposed to be sent to you as a message to remind you of upcoming bills to pay. Unfortunately, this feature failed to work on my HTC Desire. Not a single one of my bill reminders managed to notify me of upcoming deadlines. This feature would be great if only it actually worked.
With good accounting it’s not only easy to find any mistakes in your finances, but also keep track of your expenses. It’s always surprising to see just how much you spend on things you don’t really need. EasyMoney is a good tool to help you live according to your means. Maybe you’ll have to forget about buying that brand-new BMW, but at least you can sleep with a clear conscience. EasyMoney gives you a report of your finances according to:
- Expense by Category
- Monthly Expense
- Monthly Income
- Monthly Cash Flow
- Daily Balance
EasyMoney can tell you exactly which expenses should cause you to worry.
For anyone worried about security, you also have the option of adding a passcode. You can set up a PIN that needs to be entered to start up EasyMoney. This isn’t just a good way to keep the IRS at bay, but also keeps your finance secure from the prying eyes of your friends and family.
Alright, so you’ve got all your accounts set up and you would like to transfer some money to your offshore account on the Cayman Islands. What do you do? Again, EasyMoney let’s you transfer money from one account to the other (only in the same currency). Unfortunately, EasyMoney lacks a built-in currency converter, so you’ll have to estimate the amount on your own.
In the Settings you can make all sorts of adjustments. Would you rather have your currency displayed as USD or $? Do you want to display all the decimals in your amounts? EasyMoney has an option for all of it!
A cool addition is the built-in calculator that you can consult when entering in a transaction.
