This is the only application available on android market which displays bird names in Marathi & Hindi. It works in offline mode and can be moved to SD Card. It is very easy to use as a "field guide" at birding sites.
The application covers most of the common species of birds found in India. The application is in sync with our own bird repository and hence includes the birds which you will find in our website @ http://birds.TheNatureWeb.Net
Some key features of application include:
1. List of bird names in Marathi
2. List of bird names in Hindi
3. Bird categorization for easy navigation with category names in Marathi
4. Searchable List of birds - the application allows to search either on bird name or alternate bird names or scientific name.
5. List of State Birds of India
6. Bird Details screen with photo gallery - use long press on each photo in gallery to view the details of selected photo
7. Bird Quiz
8. Desktop widget showing random bird.
The application also offers search based on Marathi & Hindi names. Currently many of the Android operating systems doesn't support Devnagari font. To overcome this challenge; the application allows users to perform the search in Marathi & Hindi by typing the names in English script. For example: 'Chimani', 'Kabutar', 'Maina', 'Fakhta' etc.
In addition to list of bird names in Marathi & Hindi, the application also has a quiz that gives you an opportunity to find out how many birds you know with their names and increase your knowledge about birds.
Desktop widget is one more cool feature which displays "Bird Info" on home screen. The bird displayed in widget is randomly selected from the application's bird collection. NOTE: This feature does NOT work when the application is moved SD Card.

Good App But Desktop widgets does not work Good App. You may think of 1. Adding more species. 2. Making sure the desktop widget does work. 3. Change background green to something lighter.. its all green-green now.

Useful App My 7yrs daughter liked it as she gets name of birds in English as well as in Marathi.Only photo gallery is not working smoothly.

Great app This is just a great app...yesterday i sw one bird at khadakwasla dam..n immediately i got its name through this app...really impressed..

Good app but some modifications needed Really good app but as the releases are coming the size of app is increasing and as this app is installed on phone memory it takes quite large percentage of phone memory. It would be good if it is saved on SD card instead of phone memory in next release

Where is the common Owl? There are a few birds i find missijng like owl and canary. Pls update more birds, otherwise a beautiful app

Indian national bird "Peacock" is missing and there are lot of more species that should be added.
