Description
This is more a script than an application and has no real user interface. Copying images to different folders or SD cards can result in their timestamp getting updated and as a result, the Android Gallery no longer sorts your photos by the date on which they were taken. This app looks up the EXIF tags of photos and if the timestamp has been saved, replaces the timestamp of the file with this date and time indicating when the photo was actually taken. It operates on one folder at a time and given the integration with Android Gallery to choose the folder, you will have to pick a photo within the intended album to update the timestamp of all photos in that folder.
Only photos with "jpg" extension and an EXIF timestamp will have their files updated with the mentioned date and time.

Perfect, almost After backup and restore of all my photos they ended up with the wrong timestamp, and gallery sorted the images totally wrong. This app fixed it. But... Only for images unfortunately. Hopefully this app can be extended to manage films as well. Galaxy Nexus with JB. Work perfectly!

Fixed my Google+ problem Google+ likes to upload photos and sort them based on the file date rather than the photo's EXIF date. After I changed phones, then changed microSD cards, all my photos ended up with the same file date. Suddenly I had tons of photos, previously uploaded under different dates, all on the same date, and all first in the list. Also, the Android gallery app shows photos in file date order as well. This script ripped through all my photos in a minute or so and corrected all the modified and file dates. Awesome. Exactly what I needed.
