Description
NOTE: If you have any problems or suggestions with the app, please contact me by email, as there is no possibility to answer in Market.A simple tool to control automatic brightness. Works with real backlight, so it doesn't waste battery on LCD screens. Turn off standard auto brightness in settings, and other brightness apps or problems may arise.
How to use:
Use upper slider to select an enviroment brightness you want to adjust for.
Then use the lower slider to set screen brightness value for the selected enviroment brightness. If you tick the "Demonstrate selected brightness value", it will also demonstrate the selected screen brightness right at the moment.
Tick "Activate service", close the app and cycle screen off and on. The service will activate.
On some devices brighness sensor is non-standard, so you may have to run calibration from the settings (Menu - Settings - Calibrate sensor).
You also may detect minimum screen brightness supported by your device by selecting "Check brightness range" in settings so the app would work more efficiently. The screen may not go absolutely dim, that is normal, most devices limit lowest brightness.
Description of permissions:
WRITE_SETTINGS, SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW
These are required by the very way the app works. Writes system brightness and also sets current screen brightness.
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Required by an error reporting system, required to send the reports.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED
Required to allow the application to autostart after device reboot.
GET_TASKS
Used to determine current onscreen application for an list of excluded applications, for example, APK installer.

Update broke. Before update, the app worked really well. Now the screen ranges between 2 and 8 for a lit room, even after calibration.

Update broke it Usabillity was lacking, but it worked. Now with 0.88, it doesn't work at all anymore. Always showing extremely high sensor values and never changing actual screen brightness. :-(

Not as great as I thought After a recent update, the app became broken. Whenever using my galaxy nexus, the screen starts to randomly flash from the current brightness setting, to the highest brightness setting, all the way to the lowest brightness setting and stays at the lowest setting until I reset the service. Hopefully, the developer fixes this as I consider this much more useful than lux auto brightness.

Issues since update Since the last update I have been having issues with the way it is adjusting brightness. I have tried recalabrating, but with no luck. Sometimes it won't adjust brightness, orher times it sets it at Max even if its dark in rhe room.
