Only goes back to 1913 I'm mostly interested in getting a better understanding when I read 1800s history. This doesn't help for that. InflationMaster and Wolfram Alpha are what I found that can do.

Nice, simple app that does exactly what I want - compute the US CPI inflation between two given years. Needs no permissions!
